Change in our community begins with us — all of us.

Real change requires a community willing to acknowledge what isn’t working and ready to push for something better.

Over the past several years, residents across the West Shores have watched the Salton Community Services District struggle with serious issues that continue to affect daily life. These concerns are not rumors — they are visible, ongoing problems that residents have raised repeatedly.

Service & Infrastructure Failures

Residents have reported multiple service breakdowns, including:

  • Sewage spills from manholes in several neighborhoods.

  • Aging pumps that cannot keep up with current wastewater demands.

  • Inconsistent waste collection and park maintenance, leaving families frustrated and feeling overlooked.

These are not small issues — they impact health, safety, and quality of life.

Park & Recreation Concerns

The community has also seen recreation projects fall short:

  • At Desert Shores Park, newly installed grass is already dying due to improper irrigation and maintenance.

  • The metal building at Salton City Park remains unusable because it was not built to code and cannot be permitted — now serving only as storage instead of a community asset.

  • Promised recreation improvements have stalled, leaving families without accessible, inclusive spaces.

Residents deserve recreation that works — and that lasts.

Financial & Administrative Oversight

Imperial County continues to monitor the District due to past financial mismanagement, misuse of funds, and unresolved administrative issues. This oversight is expected to continue for several more years.

Residents have expressed concerns about:

  • Lack of transparency in spending

  • Delayed responses to public records requests

  • Legal fees reaching tens of thousands of dollars

  • Projects approved without clear community input

A public agency should not operate behind closed doors.

Communication Breakdowns

Many residents feel unheard or uninformed. Important updates often arrive late — or not at all. Community members deserve timely, respectful communication from the District.

A Community‑Driven Call to Action

These issues are not insurmountable. They are signs that the community is ready for something different — leadership that listens, collaborates, and follows through.

This is why I believe in a community‑driven movement for change. Not one person, not one voice — but all of us working together to build the West Shores we deserve.

If you are ready to talk about what you want to see in our community, I’m here. If you are ready to imagine something better, I’m here. If you are ready to help shape the future of the West Shores, I’m here.

Join me in a community‑driven effort to bring accountability, transparency, and real solutions back to our District.
